A Fundraising/Awareness Quilt Project for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Does your mom or dad have multiple sclerosis?  Do you have a sister living with MS?  Or has your wife been diagnosed?  Are you a parent of a young adult with MS?  Has your grandpa had MS for a long time?  Do you have MS?

MS affects not only the person living with the disease but the entire family.

Like the now-famous AIDS quilts, this quilt will show the many facets of MS in families living with MS, including:

  • couples sharing
  • raising children
  • adapting to role changes
  • dealing with feelings of sadness and frustration
  • making the best
  • taking steps to help each other
  • finding new ways to have fun
  • living with uncertainty
  • continuing to hope
  • planning for the future
  • managing symptoms which fluctuate
  • offering practical advice
  • playing together
  • assisting with injection treatment
  • loving and living positively with MS

The quilt, supported by a grant from Serono. Inc., will be exhibited at educational events, fundraising events, support groups, and MS Centers. Standing alone, it will serve as focal point and powerful visual aid for the spirits of those living with MS.

Your opportunity to participate!!

It's easy and fun.

Just complete a quilt square of fabric (easy instructions included with the quilt square) and share your FACE of MS (family story or one facet of that story as suggested above).

To obtain a quilt square, contact Michelle at 314-739-1768 or by email at michellekeating@juno.com

When you complete your square, you also agree to raise just $25 for the National MS Society and send a check for that with your fabric square. Send your completed quilt square by August 31, 2004 . The quilt project will be completed later this year.
