Fundraising
Diane's Pedal Partner and SoleMate.
The Gateway [St. Louis area] Chapter of the National MS
Society has a program called "SoleMates." The SoleMates program
is a wonderful element of the MS Walk that allows walkers to make a
personal connection with the people for whom they are walking. A
SoleMate dedicates his/her walk to someone living with MS and s/he
receives a sticker with the SoleMate's name to signify the importance
of the walk dedication.

The MS 150 is an amazing event for everyone involved. It's a
two-day, 150-mile bike ride, which is a personal challenge and a great
time for all participants. But, it is also important to remember the
reason behind the event - which is to raise funds to end the
devastating effects of MS. A fantastic way to do so is for a biker to
dedicate his/her ride to a person with MS as a Pedal Partner. In
September 2004, Diane's Pedal Partner was Cindy. The truly amazing part
is that Cindy and Diane are both members of Women in Aviation,
International, and knew each other through aviation emails. It
was only after the Gateway [St. Louis area] Chapter of the National MS
Society paired the two of them that they learned of the
coincidence. They knew each other as aviatrixes but Diane didn't
know Cindy was a biker and Cindy didn't know Diane had MS. This
is truly an incredible Pedal Partner-ship!
Diane's pedal partner, Cindy, rode her bike around Europe in
July/August 2004 to train for the MS150. Diane is in awe of this adventure.
